Campobasso (Italy) received the second meeting of our project: Sharing European values by national films The gathering took place between 12 and 17 march 2018 in the IPIA school and the Italian team was a friendly host. 30 students and 10 teachers transformed the technical school into the best place to work and enjoy, to strengthen bonds during a week. The welcoming was in charge of Maria Luisa Forte, headmaster, and the major and president of the region of Campobasso, Antonio Batista, who delivered an important speech about the European values. Campobasso is a city and comune in Southern Italy, the capital of the region of Molise and of the province of Campobasso. It is located in the high basin of the Biferno river, surrounded by Sannio and Matese An exciting place where learning history and producing new ideas and values. We were so happy to spend time in Italy.

From Tuesday to Thursday, the basic planning was: hard work in the morning and sightseeing around Campobasso in the afternoon. The work project was really useful, because the students did different multicultural team in order to expose their ideas about inequality and to produce work hypothesis. In the meantime, the teachers were discussing on the draft programme for the next meeting in Bulgaria, which will be held from 31 may to 6 june. As well as on the possible activities which will be done by then. For this reason, all the countries promised to have their own scripts ready for Bulgaria, which will be debated then. About the filming, the Italian and Spanish teachers reminded the rest of the team about the importance of finding a suitable location in our countries. Although we didn’t get a final agreement about that issue. Finally, our project starts out.

The national teams projected many examples of short films about social inequality. Turkey, Spain and Italy decided to show some problems about the role of the women in each country, from marriage to domestic violence. Poland chose the Jewish racism topic, whereas Bulgaria, worked on autism. The experience was fantastic and amazing, because it became an opportunity to contrast our social realities. Moreover, this activity was completed with a digital Lab about how to do a film, the stages of film making, the different types of shots and the post production process.

We travelled to Rome on the last day, after an intense and fruitful week, Rome isn´t only the eternal city, It is also a cinema city. The Cinecitta studios founded in 1937, had been the center of the national films and part of the European history. It was the ideal location to learn more about film making, to visit some historical sets of famous directors and films and to write a short story in the lab of Cinecitta.
